Taste of Northfield

A crowd estimated at 4,500 converged on our fair city for a taste of Northfield on June 19, including a taste of Froggy Bottoms’ famous Irish stew and beef stroganoff. Besides tasty treats from local restaurants, the night featured a community band concert, auctions, a beer and wine sampling tent overlooking the falls, dancing to the Over and Back Band and the James-Younger gang foiled yet again by the brave citizens of Northfield in their attempts to rob 1st National Bank. What a town!

F 2 F Blogging Event held at Froggy’s on March 11

Thanks to all who attended the social gathering called F 2 F Northfield during Happy Hour and beyond at the pub on March 11. The event was designed for bloggers, contributors to blogs and others who wanted to meet face to face (F 2 F). It was a success so we plan to do it again on May 20, in the party room, 4-6 p.m. Happy Hour and beyond. Everyone welcome!

St. Olaf’s Manitou Messenger had a story entitled, “City Bloggers Go Toe to Toe,” in the March 21 issue about that first meeting. Opinions editor Tim Rehborg and photographer Adam Ludvigson attended the event and interviewed participants about the blogosphere community of Northfield. The article referred to it as an “F 2 F (Frog to Frog)” meeting—perhaps we will have to adopt that as the new “Face to Face” name!
